U.S. Counterterrorism Strategy in Yemen.

September 8, 2010, 11:00am-12:30pm

Location:
U.S. Institute of Peace
2nd floor
1200 17th Street NW
Washington, DC 20036

In 2009, the failed Christmas airline attack brought Yemen to the forefront of many discussions about al-Qaeda and terrorism. Since then, there has been a steady stream of attention from the media and the policy community. Despite the increased spotlight on Yemen and its troubles, the country has long been a core part of broader U.S. counterterrorism strategy.

In this public event, USIP welcomes Daniel Benjamin, State Department's Coordinator for Counterterrorism. Mr. Benjamin will discuss the circumstances in Yemen and provide insight on current U.S. counterterrorism strategy.

Sponsored by the Yemen Working Group of USIP.
